Friday Inspiration

Last night, the husband and I celebrated 9 years of marriage (13 years together) with a casual dinner. We laughed, bantered and welled up as we reminisced upon our time together.
We love being our own people, but even more, we love how much better we are as a couple…

So, what’s got me ticking today?

1. Kylie… this look is on fire!

2. The home of late Italian Vogue editor Franca Sozzani

3. Layering gold jewellery

4. The most beautiful wicker furniture by Byron Bay hanging chairs…

5. Listening to Childish Gambino – Redbone

Keeping It Simple

With way too much on this weekend, I had no time to think about navigating my wardrobe. I naturally gravitated to my go-to look – jeans and a camisole.

If there has been one thing I’ve learnt over the last few months, it’s that resilience is not about how strong you are, but rather your ability to break things down to bite size pieces – really taking things day by day, and not getting caught up in the feelings of today or the ‘what ifs’ of tomorrow.

If I’m completely honest, I’m one of those panicky people. I do it on the inside, questioning everything and anything – often thinking of the worst case scenario just so I can “prepare”myself. It’s not the healthiest approach, but I’ve slowly learnt to just deal with the facts of today and talk about my frustrations and fears. It’s unbelievable how such a little change in mindset (focusing on facts) can ultimately change the outcome of your performance and longterm health.

Okay, back to what’s got me ticking today,

1. Effortless femininity…

2. Eucalyptus used with shades of grey and white…

3. This Bracelet

4. Sweet Potato Gnocchi!

5. Listening to Be About You by Winston Surfshirt – Such a tune!

Closet Shopping

To say the last few months have been expensive, is an understatement! From Christmas to renovations and everything in between, our wallets have certainly taken a hit. As such, I’ve not purchased a single item of clothing for over five months and instead am rediscovering some old closet favourites such as these wide leg pants worn to a Christening over the weekend.

Friday Inspiration

Sometimes in life you come to a cross road, and you don’t necessarily have the choice or option to choose your path. It’s at these times, you have to trust that whatever is coming your way has a reason or purpose. Sometimes there is a greater plan – you just might not be able to see what it is at that moment.

Today is one of those days for me…and surprisingly, I’m calm and hopeful. I put this down to the amazing people I have in my life.

Okay, enough with the cryptic messages. What’s got me ticking today?

1. Stella’s shoes….

2. The fringe factor at Missoni Resort ’17

3. Books & Art…

4. Nude and baby blue nails…

5. Listening to What I might Do – Ben Pearce. This one definitely gets me moving …

Temperature Rising

As temperatures hit uncomfortable levels this weekend, my layers became lighter and brighter. Sundays 40 degree heat prompted indoor hibernation for most of the day. The evening was spent in a lightweight wrap dress eating bao with the husband at Sydney’s Lunar Markets.

Friday Inspiration

This morning started early and as such, got me thinking about productivity vs being busy for the sake of being busy.

I came to the conclusion that I fall into the ‘busy’ trap for two major reasons 1. I say yes to too many things and 2. Because others don’t have the same regard for my time, as they do their own. I think this is one of those problems that require a little more time to digest…

So, what’s got me ticking today?

1. Denim Shorts – on the search for a new pair…

2. This Tee…

Local Fare

Even though last week was a short one for me, it was more productive then most. It was so satisfying to be able to tick some big items off my to-do list, whilst also managing to get the right level of quality downtime.

Saturday was Chinese New Year and also date night for the husband and I. We were missing our second home Singapore, so did what any home sick person would do – head to Spice Alley to feast on SouthEast Asian fare.

Shredded Skirt

I promised myself that Saturday would be spent making the final decisions at our property. I stayed true to that promise, which meant I was able to spend Sunday relaxing without the ‘what-if’ thoughts that have been plaguing my mind over the last few weeks.

The day started with a sleep in and brunch at Bowery Lane… it eventually progressed to a boozy afternoon sitting harbour side. Bliss!
