Style Crush – Kendall Jenner

I normall don’t have much to say about the Kardashian/Jenner Sisters – I’m somewhat indifferent. BUT in saying that, Ms Kendall Jenner has caught my eye on a number of occasions over the last few years. Other than being an absolute stunner, I love that she has her own simple style versus her sisters who tend to be more trend driven/experimental…

So, what can we learn from Kendall?

1. Know your colours; Kendall has a cool, high-contrast colouring and she dresses in colours (particularly around her face) that accentuate her natural colouring – black, white, blue, grey, cool red, blue based greens, purples etc.

2. Keep it simple; Clean lines and good fit gives this girl a polished and effortlessly chic look. This is a great way to ensure you look put-together whilst off-duty.

3. Focus on your assets and dress for them; For Ms K, it’s all about them legs! Skinny jeans, tailored trousers, short skirts and shorts. She also aims to create a long lean silhouette; boots the same colour as her trousers, nude pumps, long cardigans/vests, colour blocking from head to toe – all tricks to create a longer leaner silhouette.

Some of my fave looks Kendall Jenner looks…

Crushing on Tina Leung

Tina Leung is a freelance stylist, blogger and style icon that I’m currently (and unashamedly) infatuated with. Her signature style has a sexy feminine feel with an eclectic edge. She’s daring and confident, with a style that is all her own.

Why I’m crushing? She makes wearing colour and edginess look easy.

Her Fashion Moto:  “Anything goes, as long as you’re having fun with it!”

Folow “her personal adventures in the vivid world of fashion” at www.tinaloves.com or on Instagram @TinaLeung

Barbara Martelo

Barbara Martelo is one of those women that seem to have it all; the smarts – a law graduate, the career – fashion editor, stylist and consultant, the looks – legs for days, and impeccable style – effortless and uniquely her.

Why I’m crushing? Other than the already stated reasons, this spanish beauty stays true to her own style – a combination of classic wardrobe staples mixed with cool cuts and punk rock influence.

Her uniform of choice; high wasted skinny jeans, mini skirts, leather jackets (hell, leather anything), blazers, classic cut tee’s and shirts.

Designers of choice: Balmain, Saint Laurent, Celine, Manolo Blahnik, Isabel Marant.

Krushing on Keri

I remember having a huge girl crush on Keri Russell during her Felicity days…. but now the 38year old, age defying mother of two has got me crushing all over again with her wardrobe of modern classic’s in a neutral pallet. She looks effortless, natural yet put together. She is the perfect example of why a wardrobe of basics is not a bad thing.

Style Crush

Yesterday afternoon was spent packing for my six week European holiday, which officially starts with a quick pit-stop in Singapore.
Packing this time was a little harder than usual, as we are travelling to colder locations such as Scotland but also spending time in the Mediterranean heat. On top of this, we have a beautiful English countryside wedding (which requires formal wear) all with a baggage allowance of 20kg per person – Dang those smaller interconnecting flights!

Whilst packing I was channeling my inner chic with basics and style inspiration from Sarah Harris, British Vogue – Director of Fashion Features.

OSCAR DE LA RENTA

Oscar is a brand I’ve coveted but rarely contemplated purchasing. I suppose like many, I associated the brand with bridal wear or New York’s elite.

But WOW, how wrong could one be! The amazing work of Erika Bearman (Director of Comm’s) has taken this aspirational brand and made it accessible and inspirational for all.

When I saw the latest Oscar PR Girl shoot I was taken aback….I mean jaw dropping taken aback! These Images (if they haven’t already) will be making their rounds via every imaginable medium in no time.
