I’ve been wearing the midi length to death. I’m not sure if it’s the ease/comfort of this style or the abundance of availability, either way I’m still crushing on this look. However there are a few things to consider when trying to wear the midi length and avoid the matronly look.
1. It needs to be the right length for you. My biggest tip is to avoid your widest point (thickest part of your calves) unless you want to create visible weight in this area.
2. Unless you have legs-for-days – opt for a higher waisted skirt. This will create length to a style that otherwise cuts you off.
3. Consider how to balance the look – if it’s an A-line or full circle skirt: bare more shoulders or maybe a midriff. A midi pencil skirt; a cute tee or sweater will do the trick.
4. Heels are a midi lengths best friend.
