Table for Two – Date Night

Saturday evening was date night with my man. We enjoyed a slow dinner with plenty of conversation (catch up time) followed by a movie (zone out time).

When most people think of ‘date night’, flirty little dresses, plunging necklines or short skirts come to mind. Me, I’ve never been one for extremely pretty or girly items (nothing too fussy). This is not to say I don’t enjoy the occasional flirty dress or short skirt, but simplicity in my outfits is when I feel most comfortable and in an odd way sexy.

If I had to describe my style, I would say it’s a balance of masculine and feminine put together in a simple polished look.

Funnily enough, my look began with my smokey eye inspiration post. I wanted to tone down my overall look and chose to do so with a single pleat tapered pant. For a pop of colour and femininity, I added bright red high-heel points.

I finished my outfit with a slim cut, cap sleeved T-shirt to create a simple but classic hourglass silhouette. A geometric pattern cuff and tribal print clutch add a little interest to what is a relatively simple outfit.

Wearing: Cue Pants, Sportsgirl T-shirt, Tony Bianco Heels, Forever 21 Cuff, Aldo Clutch.

  1. Loooooove this outfit so much. The pants are such a great cut and for some strange reason I really like the width of the waistband.

    • Thanks Lovely. Most people would be tempted to put a big belt on, however this just cuts the body in half (at a low point) making the legs appear shorter. This is only good for women who have proportionally longer legs than torso.

Erm, I think if the styling doesn’t work out, a modelling career beckons!

Love the simplicity of this look with the statement shoes.
